He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a professional pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Nathan showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Nathan's parents recognized his talent and enrolled him in the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division when he was just six years old. There, he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher Yoheved Kaplinsky. Nathan's talent and dedication to his craft were evident from the start, and he quickly became one of the school's most promising young musicians. As Nathan grew older, he continued to hone his skills and expand his repertoire. He studied at the Juilliard School's college division, where he earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in piano performance. During this time, he also had the opportunity to study with some of the world's most renowned pianists, including Emanuel Ax, Murray Perahia, and AndrĂ¡s Schiff. Nathan's talent and hard work paid off, and he began to receive recognition for his performances. In 2007, he won the prestigious Gina Bachauer Piano Competition, which is one of the most highly regarded piano competitions in the world. This win helped to launch Nathan's career and put him on the map as a rising star in the classical music world. Over the years, Nathan has performed in some of the world's most renowned concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Berlin Philharmonic. He has also collaborated with some of the world's most esteemed orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra. One of Nathan's most memorable performances was his debut with the New York Philharmonic in 2010. He performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5, also known as the "Emperor" concerto, to critical acclaim. The New York Times praised Nathan's performance, calling it "a triumph of technique and musicality." In addition to his performances, Nathan is also a dedicated teacher. He has taught at the Juilliard School and the Manhattan School of Music, and he currently serves as a faculty member at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. Nathan is passionate about passing on his knowledge and love of music to the next generation of musicians. Throughout his career, Nathan has received numerous awards and accolades for his performances and recordings.
