He was the youngest of three children and grew up in a family that was passionate about music. His father was a violinist, and his mother was a pianist, and they both encouraged their children to pursue music. He received his first formal training at the Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella in Naples, where he studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and composer Achille Longo. Esposito's talent was quickly recognized, and he won several awards and competitions during his time at the conservatory. After completing his studies, Esposito began his professional career as a concert pianist. He made his debut in 1952 at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, where he performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5. The performance was a huge success, and Esposito received critical acclaim for his virtuosity and musicality. Over the next few years, Esposito continued to perform in Italy and other parts of Europe, establishing himself as one of the most talented pianists of his generation.
