Born on May 22, 1982, in Oslo, Norway, Thornhill grew up in a family of musicians. Her mother was a pianist, and her father was a conductor. From a young age, Thornhill was exposed to classical music and began singing in choirs. Thornhill's talent for singing was evident from a young age, and she began taking voice lessons at the age of 14. She went on to study at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, where she received her Bachelor's degree in 2006. Thornhill has also performed in concert halls around the world, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Carnegie Hall in New York. She has worked with some of the most renowned conductors and orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic.
