Mariana Sirbu is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant contribution to the world of music. She was born on December 22, 1958, in Chisinau, Moldova, which was then part of the Soviet Union. Her parents were both musicians, and they encouraged her to pursue music from a young age. Sirbu began her musical education at the age of six, studying violin at the Music School in Chisinau. She showed exceptional talent and was soon accepted into the prestigious Moscow Conservatory, where she studied under the tutelage of the renowned violinist Yuri Yankelevich. After completing her studies, Sirbu began her professional career as a soloist with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra. She quickly gained recognition for her virtuosity and musicality, and she was soon invited to perform with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. Sirbu's performances were always highly acclaimed, and she quickly became known for her ability to bring out the emotional depth and beauty of the music she played. She was particularly noted for her interpretations of the works of Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven, and she was widely regarded as one of the finest violinists of her generation. In addition to her work as a soloist, Sirbu was also a dedicated chamber musician. She was also awarded the State Prize of the Russian Federation in 1995 and the Order of Merit for the Fatherland in 2008. Sadly, Mariana Sirbu passed away on December 6, 2012, at the age of 53.
