Born on May 27, 1963, in Iasi, Romania, Mosuc grew up in a family of musicians. Her father was a conductor, and her mother was a pianist. From a young age, Mosuc showed a keen interest in music and began taking piano lessons at the age of six. Mosuc's talent as a singer was discovered when she was a teenager. She began studying voice at the George Enescu Music High School in Bucharest, where she was mentored by the renowned Romanian soprano, Maria Slătinaru-Nistor. Mosuc continued her studies at the National University of Music in Bucharest, where she earned a degree in vocal performance. Mosuc's career as a professional singer began in 1985 when she won the Grand Prix at the International Singing Competition in Toulouse, France. This victory launched her onto the international stage, and she quickly became known for her powerful voice and dramatic stage presence. Mosuc's breakthrough performance came in 1991 when she made her debut at the Vienna State Opera as the Queen of the Night in Mozart's "The Magic Flute." Her performance was widely praised, and she was invited to perform at other major opera houses around the world, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Royal Opera House in London, and La Scala in Milan. Over the course of her career, Mosuc has performed a wide range of roles, including Lucia in Donizetti's "Lucia di Lammermoor," Gilda in Verdi's "Rigoletto," and Violetta in Verdi's "La Traviata."
