She was the daughter of a Swedish mother and a Norwegian father, both of whom were musicians. Her mother was a pianist, and her father was a cellist. From a young age, Busk-Margit showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Busk-Margit's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began taking piano lessons at the age of six and quickly progressed to more advanced pieces. By the time she was a teenager, Busk-Margit was already performing in public and had won several local competitions. In 1974, Busk-Margit moved to Vienna, Austria, to study at the Vienna Academy of Music. She studied under some of the most renowned piano teachers in the world, including Paul Badura-Skoda and Alfred Brendel. During her time in Vienna, Busk-Margit also had the opportunity to perform in some of the city's most prestigious concert halls, including the Musikverein and the Konzerthaus. After completing her studies in Vienna, Busk-Margit moved to London, England, where she continued to perform and teach. She quickly established herself as one of the leading pianists in the city and was invited to perform with some of the most prestigious orchestras in the world, including the London Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Throughout her career, Busk-Margit was known for her technical proficiency and her ability to bring out the emotional depth of the music she played. She was particularly renowned for her interpretations of the works of Beethoven, Mozart, and Chopin. One of the highlights of Busk-Margit's career was her performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London in 1986. She was invited to perform as part of the Last Night of the Proms, one of the most prestigious classical music events in the world.
