Andrej Hovrin was born on May 12, 1985, in Moscow, Russia. He was born into a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Hovrin was exposed to classical music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Hovrin's talent was quickly recognized, and he began performing in public at the age of six. He won his first competition at the age of eight and went on to win numerous awards throughout his childhood and teenage years. In 2003, Hovrin was accepted into the Moscow Conservatory, one of the most prestigious music schools in Russia. He studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and teacher, Sergei Dorensky. During his time at the conservatory, Hovrin continued to win awards and accolades, including first prize at the International Piano Competition in Rome in 2005. After graduating from the conservatory in 2008, Hovrin began performing professionally.
