Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen Wind Soloists is a renowned classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences with their exceptional performances for over three decades. The ensemble was founded in 1980 by a group of young musicians who shared a passion for chamber music and a desire to create a unique sound that would set them apart from other ensembles. The founding members of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen Wind Soloists were all graduates of the Hochschule für Künste Bremen, a prestigious music school in Germany. They included Michael Hasel (flute), Andreas Wittmann (oboe), Stefan Schweigert (clarinet), Henning Trog (bassoon), and Markus Weidmann (horn). These musicians were all accomplished soloists in their own right, but they came together to form the ensemble with the goal of exploring the rich repertoire of chamber music for wind instruments. From the beginning, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen Wind Soloists were committed to excellence in performance and to pushing the boundaries of what was possible with their instruments. They quickly gained a reputation for their technical virtuosity, their expressive interpretations, and their ability to create a seamless blend of sound that was both powerful and nuanced. Over the years, the ensemble has expanded its repertoire to include works from a wide range of musical periods and styles, from the Baroque to the contemporary. They have collaborated with some of the world's most renowned soloists and conductors, and have performed in many of the world's most prestigious concert halls and festivals. One of the highlights of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen Wind Soloists' career was their performance at the 1994 Salzburg Festival, where they played Mozart's Serenade No. 10 in B-flat major, K. 361, also known as the "Gran Partita." This performance was widely acclaimed for its technical precision, its emotional depth, and its ability to capture the essence of Mozart's music. Another notable performance by the ensemble was their 2005 recording of the complete wind chamber music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, which was released on the BIS label. This recording was praised for its clarity, its sensitivity, and its ability to bring out the unique qualities of each instrument in the ensemble. In addition to their performances and recordings, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen Wind Soloists have also received numerous awards and honors over the years. In 1991, they were awarded the prestigious Echo Klassik award for their recording of Mozart's Serenade No. 11 in E-flat major, K. 375. They have also been awarded the German Record Critics' Award, the Diapason d'Or, and the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik, among others. Today, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen Wind Soloists continue to be one of the most respected and admired ensembles in the world of classical music. They remain committed to exploring the rich repertoire of chamber music for wind instruments, and to pushing the boundaries of what is possible with their instruments. With their technical virtuosity, their expressive interpretations, and their ability to create a seamless blend of sound, they continue to captivate audiences and inspire new generations of musicians.
