Frederic Stochl was born on May 12, 1985, in Prague, Czech Republic. He was born into a family of musicians, and his parents were both professional classical musicians. His father was a cellist, and his mother was a pianist. From a young age, Frederic showed a keen interest in music, and his parents encouraged him to pursue his passion. At the age of six, Frederic began taking piano lessons with his mother. He quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument, and his parents decided to enroll him in a music school. He attended the Prague Conservatory, where he studied piano under the guidance of renowned pianist and pedagogue, Ivan Klansky. During his time at the conservatory, Frederic participated in numerous competitions and concerts. He won several awards, including first prize at the International Piano Competition in Prague in 2001. He also performed in prestigious venues such as the Rudolfinum and the Municipal House in Prague. After completing his studies at the conservatory, Frederic continued his education at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. He studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and pedagogue, Peter Toperczer. During this time, Frederic continued to participate in competitions and concerts, and he won several awards, including first prize at the International Piano Competition in Brno in 2005. In 2006, Frederic was invited to perform at the Prague Spring International Music Festival. He performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 with the Prague Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Jiri Belohlavek. The performance was a huge success, and Frederic received critical acclaim for his interpretation of the concerto. Following his success at the Prague Spring International Music Festival, Frederic was invited to perform at several other prestigious music festivals, including the Salzburg Festival and the Lucerne Festival. He also performed with several renowned orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic and the Vienna Philharmonic. In 2010, Frederic released his debut album, which featured works by Beethoven, Chopin, and Liszt. The album received critical acclaim, and Frederic was praised for his technical prowess and musical sensitivity. In addition to his career as a performer, Frederic is also a dedicated teacher. He has taught masterclasses at several music schools and conservatories, including the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Juilliard School in New York. Throughout his career, Frederic has received numerous awards and accolades. In 2012, he was awarded the prestigious Artis Bohemiae Amicis medal by the Czech Ministry of Culture, in recognition of his contributions to the arts. He has also been awarded the Order of Merit by the President of the Czech Republic. Today, Frederic Stochl is considered one of the most talented and accomplished pianists of his generation.
