The Nashville Symphony Chorus is a renowned classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences with their exceptional performances for over 50 years. The chorus was founded in 1963 by Walter Susskind, the then-music director of the Nashville Symphony Orchestra. Since then, the chorus has grown to become one of the most respected and accomplished choral groups in the United States. The Nashville Symphony Chorus is made up of over 200 volunteer singers who come from all walks of life. The chorus is led by Dr. Tucker Biddlecombe, who has been the chorus director since 2013. Dr. Biddlecombe is a highly respected choral conductor and educator who has worked with some of the most prestigious choral groups in the world. Over the years, the Nashville Symphony Chorus has performed with some of the most renowned conductors and orchestras in the world. They have collaborated with conductors such as Leonard Bernstein, Robert Shaw, and Edo de Waart, and have performed with orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra. One of the highlights of the Nashville Symphony Chorus' career was their performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in 2006. The performance was conducted by Leonard Slatkin and featured soloists such as soprano Christine Brewer and tenor Vinson Cole. The performance was hailed as a triumph, with critics praising the chorus for their precision and emotional depth. In addition to their performances with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra, the chorus has also performed on their own, showcasing their versatility and range.
