Ensemble Orchestral de Normandie is a classical music ensemble based in Normandy, France. The ensemble was founded in 1997 by Dominique Debart, a French conductor and composer. The aim of the ensemble was to promote classical music in Normandy and to provide a platform for young musicians to showcase their talents. The ensemble comprises of around 30 musicians, including string players, wind players, and percussionists. The members of the ensemble are all highly skilled musicians, many of whom have studied at some of the world's most prestigious music schools. Over the years, Ensemble Orchestral de Normandie has performed at some of the most prestigious concert halls in France and around the world. The ensemble has also collaborated with some of the world's most renowned soloists, including pianist Jean-Philippe Collard and cellist Gautier Capuçon. One of the highlights of the ensemble's career was their performance at the 2008 Festival de Musique de Menton. The festival is one of the most prestigious classical music festivals in France, and the ensemble's performance was highly praised by critics and audiences alike. Ensemble Orchestral de Normandie has also won several awards over the years. In 2003, the ensemble was awarded the Prix de la Fondation de France, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the arts in France. The ensemble has also been awarded the Prix de l'Académie des Beaux-Arts, one of the most prestigious awards in the French arts world. In addition to their performances, Ensemble Orchestral de Normandie is also committed to promoting classical music education in Normandy. The ensemble regularly holds workshops and masterclasses for young musicians, and they have also established a youth orchestra, which provides young musicians with the opportunity to perform alongside professional musicians. Ensemble Orchestral de Normandie's repertoire is diverse, ranging from Baroque to contemporary music. The ensemble has recorded several albums, including a recording of Mozart's Piano Concertos with Jean-Philippe Collard.
