Artis Ensemble Stuttgart is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 1998 in Stuttgart, Germany. The ensemble is made up of a group of highly skilled musicians who are dedicated to performing classical music at the highest level. The founding members of Artis Ensemble Stuttgart were all graduates of the Stuttgart Conservatory of Music. The founding members of the ensemble were violinist Annette Seyfried, violist Ulrike Hofmann, cellist Michael Preuß, and pianist Andreas Kirpal. Since its founding, Artis Ensemble Stuttgart has become one of the most respected classical music ensembles in Germany. The ensemble has performed at some of the most prestigious concert halls in the country, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Munich Philharmonic, and the Hamburg State Opera. The ensemble has also performed at international music festivals, including the Salzburg Festival and the Edinburgh International Festival. One of the highlights of Artis Ensemble Stuttgart's career was their performance of Beethoven's complete string quartets. The ensemble performed all 16 of Beethoven's string quartets over the course of several concerts, which were highly praised by critics and audiences alike.
