From a young age, Lorenzo showed a keen interest in music and began playing the recorder at the age of 10. He was fascinated by the sound of the instrument and spent hours practicing and perfecting his skills. Lorenzo's passion for music led him to study at the Conservatory of Milan, where he received his diploma in recorder and flute performance. He then went on to study with some of the most renowned musicians in Europe, including Frans Bruggen, Walter van Hauwe, and Michael Schneider. In 1978, Lorenzo joined the ensemble "Il Giardino Armonico," which was founded by his friend and colleague, Giovanni Antonini. The ensemble quickly gained recognition for their innovative approach to Baroque music, and Lorenzo played a significant role in their success. He was known for his virtuosic playing and his ability to bring out the nuances of the music. Over the years, Lorenzo has performed with some of the most prestigious orchestras and ensembles in the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
