Born on May 22, 1975, in Helsinki, Finland, Eskelinen began playing the guitar at the age of six and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. Eskelinen's early musical education was guided by his father, who was a professional guitarist and music teacher. Under his father's tutelage, Eskelinen developed a deep appreciation for classical music and began to study the works of great composers such as Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven. As a teenager, Eskelinen continued to hone his skills as a guitarist and began to perform in public. He quickly gained a reputation as a prodigious talent and was invited to perform at a number of prestigious music festivals throughout Europe. In 1994, Eskelinen enrolled at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, where he studied under the renowned guitarist Jukka Savijoki.
