The founding members of Rhydian are Rhydian Roberts, Richard Allen, and Greg Harradine. Rhydian Roberts is a Welsh singer and actor who rose to fame after appearing on the fourth series of the British television show The X Factor in 2007. Richard Allen is a classically trained pianist who has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Greg Harradine is a cellist who has performed with numerous orchestras and ensembles, including the London Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. The ensemble's name, Rhydian, is derived from the Welsh name Rhydian Roberts, who is one of the founding members of the group.
