The Münchener Bach-Chor is a renowned classical music choir based in Munich, Germany. Founded in 1954 by conductor Karl Richter, the choir has become one of the most respected and celebrated ensembles in the world of classical music. Karl Richter was a prominent figure in the world of classical music, known for his interpretations of the works of Johann Sebastian Bach. He founded the Münchener Bach-Chor with the goal of performing Bach's music with the highest level of excellence and authenticity. The choir quickly gained a reputation for its exceptional performances, and soon became one of the most sought-after ensembles in Europe. Over the years, the Münchener Bach-Chor has performed at some of the world's most prestigious venues, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and the Musikverein in Vienna. Albrecht has also expanded the choir's repertoire to include contemporary works, and has collaborated with composers such as Arvo Pärt and John Tavener. Today, the Münchener Bach-Chor remains one of the most respected and celebrated choirs in the world of classical music.
