Griffin Music Ensemble is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2005 by a group of talented musicians who shared a passion for chamber music. The ensemble is based in New York City and has gained a reputation for its innovative programming and exceptional performances. The founding members of Griffin Music Ensemble were violinist Sarah Griffin, cellist David Griffin, and pianist Emily Griffin. All three musicians had extensive experience performing in various orchestras and chamber groups, and they decided to form their own ensemble to explore the rich repertoire of chamber music. Over the years, Griffin Music Ensemble has expanded to include other talented musicians, including violist Rachel Smith and clarinetist Michael Johnson. In 2015, the ensemble performed a program of works by female composers, including Clara Schumann, Fanny Mendelssohn, and Amy Beach. In addition to their performances, Griffin Music Ensemble is also dedicated to music education and outreach.
