The Pecs Symphony Orchestra is a classical music ensemble based in the city of Pecs, Hungary. The orchestra was founded in 1960 by a group of local musicians who were passionate about classical music and wanted to create a professional ensemble that could perform at the highest level. The founding members of the orchestra included some of the most talented musicians in the region, including violinist Ferenc Szekelyhidi, cellist Ferenc Szabo, and conductor Janos Ferencsik. The orchestra's current music director is Zsolt Hamar, who has been with the ensemble since 2005.
