The Gnessin Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra is a renowned classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences around the world for over three decades. The Gnessin family has a long and distinguished history in the world of classical music. The family's musical legacy began in the early 20th century when the renowned Russian pianist and composer Alexander Gnessin founded the Gnessin State Musical College in Moscow. The college quickly became one of the most prestigious music schools in the world, producing some of the most talented musicians of the 20th century. In 1985, Alexander's son, Mikhail Gnessin, founded the Gnessin Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra. The orchestra was created with the goal of showcasing the incredible talent of the students and faculty of the Gnessin State Musical College. Mikhail Gnessin served as the orchestra's first conductor, and under his leadership, the ensemble quickly gained a reputation for its exceptional musicianship and innovative programming.
