Jordi Ricart is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant contribution to the world of music. Born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1985, Jordi showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. His parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue his passion for music. Jordi's musical education began at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona, where he studied piano under the guidance of renowned pianist and pedagogue, Albert Attenelle. He later went on to study at the Royal College of Music in London, where he received a scholarship to study with the world-renowned pianist, Norma Fisher. During his time at the Royal College of Music, Jordi won several awards, including the prestigious Chappell Medal for Piano, which is awarded to the most outstanding pianist of the year. He also won the Harold Craxton Prize for Chamber Music, which recognizes excellence in ensemble playing. Jordi's talent as a pianist was recognized early on in his career, and he was invited to perform at several prestigious venues around the world. In 2007, he made his debut at the Wigmore Hall in London, one of the most prestigious concert halls in the world. He has also performed at the Royal Festival Hall, the Barbican Centre, and the Cadogan Hall in London, as well as at the Palau de la Música Catalana and the Auditori de Barcelona in Spain. Jordi has collaborated with several renowned musicians, including the cellist Steven Isserlis, the violinist Maxim Vengerov, and the pianist Imogen Cooper. He has also performed with several orchestras, including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his performances, Jordi is also a dedicated teacher and has taught at several music schools and conservatories around the world. He has also given masterclasses at the Royal College of Music, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu. Jordi's repertoire is diverse and includes works by some of the greatest composers in history, including Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and Liszt. He is particularly known for his interpretations of the works of Spanish composers, including Manuel de Falla, Isaac Albéniz, and Joaquín Rodrigo. Jordi has recorded several albums, including a recording of the complete piano works of Manuel de Falla, which was released to critical acclaim. He has also recorded works by Chopin, Liszt, and Albéniz. Jordi's talent and dedication to music have been recognized with several awards and honors. In 2010, he was awarded the Premi Ciutat de Barcelona, which is awarded to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the cultural life of the city. He was also awarded the Premi Nacional de Cultura de Catalunya in 2015, which is the highest cultural award in Catalonia. Jordi continues to perform and teach around the world, and his passion for music remains as strong as ever.
