Giovanni Capolongo, commonly known as G. Capolongo, was an Italian composer of classical music. He was born on January 1, 1756, in Naples, Italy. Capolongo was born into a family of musicians, and his father was a well-known composer and conductor in Naples. From a young age, Capolongo showed a keen interest in music and began his musical education under the guidance of his father. Capolongo's early musical training was focused on the keyboard, and he quickly developed a reputation as a prodigious talent. He began performing in public at the age of 10 and was soon recognized as one of the most promising young musicians in Naples. Capolongo's father recognized his son's talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. In his early twenties, Capolongo began to compose his own music. His early works were heavily influenced by the music of his father and other Neapolitan composers of the time. However, Capolongo quickly developed his own unique style, which was characterized by its lyricism and emotional depth. Capolongo's first major success as a composer came in 1780 when his opera "La finta giardiniera" was performed in Naples. The opera was a critical and commercial success, and it established Capolongo as one of the leading composers of his generation. Over the next few years, Capolongo continued to compose operas, and his works were performed in theaters throughout Italy.
