His parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue his passion for music. McAllister's musical journey began when he enrolled in the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher, Aaron Shorr. During his time at the conservatoire, McAllister honed his skills and developed a deep understanding of classical music. In 2007, McAllister graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a Bachelor of Music degree with Honours. During his time at the Royal College of Music, McAllister continued to excel in his studies and was awarded the prestigious Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Scholarship.
