Mila Georgieva is a Bulgarian classical pianist who has gained international recognition for her virtuosic performances and musical interpretations. Born on May 5, 1985, in Sofia, Bulgaria, Mila showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of five. Her parents, both music teachers, recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Mila's early musical education was at the National School of Music "Lyubomir Pipkov" in Sofia, where she studied with renowned Bulgarian pianist and pedagogue, Prof. Stella Dimitrova-Maistorova. Under her guidance, Mila developed a strong foundation in piano technique and musicianship, and won several national and international competitions, including the "Young Virtuosos" competition in Sofia and the "Citta di Barletta" competition in Italy. In 2003, Mila was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she continued her studies with Prof. Christopher Elton and Prof. Joanna MacGregor. During her time at the Academy, Mila won several awards, including the Harold Craxton Prize for Accompaniment and the Christian Carpenter Prize for Chamber Music. After completing her studies at the Royal Academy of Music, Mila embarked on a successful career as a soloist and chamber musician, performing in major concert halls and festivals throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. She has collaborated with many renowned musicians, including violinist Maxim Vengerov, cellist Steven Isserlis, and clarinetist Michael Collins. Mila's repertoire is diverse and includes works by classical and contemporary composers. She has a particular affinity for the music of Chopin, Liszt, and Rachmaninoff, and has recorded several albums of their works. Her recordings have received critical acclaim and have been featured on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM. In addition to her performing career, Mila is also a dedicated teacher and has taught at several music schools and universities, including the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience with the next generation of musicians and helping them to develop their own artistic voices. Throughout her career, Mila has received numerous awards and accolades for her musical achievements. In 2010, she was awarded the "Young Musician of the Year" award by the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture, and in 2015, she was named a "Rising Star" by the European Concert Hall Organization, which led to a series of concerts in major concert halls throughout Europe. Mila continues to perform and teach, and is committed to promoting classical music and inspiring audiences around the world with her artistry and passion. Her dedication to her craft and her unwavering commitment to excellence have made her one of the most respected and admired musicians of her generation.
