Born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1966, Muzijevic began his musical studies at an early age, showing a natural talent and passion for the piano. Muzijevic's family moved to the United States when he was a child, and he continued his musical education at the Juilliard School in New York City. There, he studied with renowned pianists such as Adele Marcus and Mieczyslaw Horszowski, honing his skills and developing his unique artistic voice. Throughout his career, Muzijevic has performed with some of the world's most prestigious orchestras and ensembles, including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. He has also collaborated with many of the leading musicians of our time, including violinist Joshua Bell, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, and soprano Dawn Upshaw. One of Muzijevic's most notable performances was his solo recital at Carnegie Hall in 1999, which was hailed by critics as a "tour de force" and a "triumph of artistry." In this performance, Muzijevic showcased his technical prowess and musical sensitivity, performing works by Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin with a depth of emotion and nuance that left the audience spellbound. Muzijevic has also been recognized for his contributions to the classical music world, receiving numerous awards and honors throughout his career. In 2004, he was awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, which is given to outstanding young musicians who show exceptional promise for a career in classical music. He has also been a recipient of the Salon de Virtuosi Career Grant and the S&R Washington Award, among others. In addition to his work as a performer, Muzijevic is also a dedicated educator and mentor. He has taught at institutions such as the Mannes School of Music and the Peabody Conservatory, and has served as a guest lecturer and masterclass instructor at universities and music schools around the world.
