Jan Milosz Zarzycki was a Polish composer and pianist who lived from 13 September 1834 to 17 November 1895. He was born in the town of Zhytomyr, which was then part of the Russian Empire. Zarzycki was born into a family of musicians, and his father was a violinist and conductor. His mother was a pianist, and she was the one who taught him how to play the piano.
