Mary Dullea is a highly acclaimed classical pianist known for her virtuosic performances and dedication to contemporary music. Born in Ireland, Dullea began her musical studies at a young age and quickly showed a natural talent for the piano. She went on to study at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and later at the Royal College of Music in London, where she earned a Master of Music degree. Dullea's career as a professional pianist began in the early 2000s, and she quickly gained recognition for her dynamic and expressive performances. She has performed extensively throughout Europe, North America, and Asia, and has collaborated with many of the world's leading composers and musicians. One of Dullea's most notable achievements was her performance of Olivier Messiaen's monumental piano cycle, Vingt Regards sur l'Enfant-Jésus, which she performed in its entirety at the National Concert Hall in Dublin in 2013. The performance was widely praised for its technical brilliance and emotional depth, and cemented Dullea's reputation as one of the foremost interpreters of contemporary piano music. Dullea has also been a champion of new music throughout her career, and has premiered numerous works by contemporary composers. She has worked closely with composers such as Donnacha Dennehy, Gerald Barry, and Kevin Volans, and has performed at many of the world's leading contemporary music festivals, including the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, the Bang on a Can Marathon, and the Gaudeamus Muziekweek. She is a founding member of the Fidelio Trio, a critically acclaimed piano trio that has performed extensively throughout Europe and North America. Her debut solo album, George Crumb: Metamorphoses, was released in 2007 to great acclaim, and was named one of the top classical recordings of the year by The New York Times. Throughout her career, Dullea has received numerous awards and accolades for her performances and recordings.
