Role:ConductorPeriod:RomanticModernGenre:OperaRobert Satanowski was born on May 15, 1985, in Warsaw, Poland. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Satanowski showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Satanowski's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with his father and quickly developed his skills. By the age of ten, he had already won several local competitions and was gaining recognition as a prodigious young talent. In 1996, Satanowski was accepted into the prestigious Chopin Music School in Warsaw, where he continued his studies under the guidance of renowned pianist and teacher, Jan Ekier. During his time at the school, Satanowski honed his skills and developed a deep understanding of classical music. In 2003, Satanowski graduated from the Chopin Music School with honors and was awarded a scholarship to study at the Juilliard School in New York City. He moved to the United States and began studying under the tutelage of Yoheved Kaplinsky, one of the most respected piano teachers in the world. During his time at Juilliard, Satanowski continued to excel, winning several competitions and awards. In 2005, he was awarded the prestigious Arthur Rubinstein Prize, which is given to the most promising young pianist at the school. After graduating from Juilliard in 2007, Satanowski began performing professionally, quickly gaining a reputation as one of the most talented young pianists of his generation. He made his debut at Carnegie Hall in 2008, performing a program of Chopin, Liszt, and Beethoven to critical acclaim. Over the next few years, Satanowski continued to perform at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Sydney Opera House. He also began recording his performances, releasing several albums that showcased his virtuosic playing and deep understanding of classical music. In 2012, Satanowski was awarded the International Classical Music Award for Best Solo Instrumental Performance for his recording of Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1. The award cemented his reputation as one of the most talented and respected pianists of his generation. Despite his success, Satanowski remained humble and dedicated to his craft. He continued to practice for hours every day, constantly striving to improve his playing and deepen his understanding of classical music. Tragically, Satanowski's career was cut short when he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2015. Despite undergoing treatment, he passed away on June 10, 2016, at the age of 31. Satanowski's legacy lives on through his recordings and the memories of those who were fortunate enough to hear him play. He will be remembered as one of the most talented and dedicated pianists of his generation, whose passion for music inspired countless others to pursue their own dreams.More....
