Philarmonia Slavonia is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2003 in Osijek, Croatia. The ensemble is made up of some of the most talented musicians in the region, and has gained a reputation for its exceptional performances of classical music. The founding members of Philarmonia Slavonia were all graduates of the Music Academy in Osijek, and shared a passion for classical music. They decided to form an ensemble that would allow them to showcase their talents and bring classical music to audiences in Croatia and beyond. The ensemble's main members include violinists Dora Novak and Ana Novak, violist Ivana Kovačić, cellist Maja Bogdanović, and pianist Ivana Marija Vidović. These musicians have all received extensive training in classical music, and have performed with some of the most prestigious orchestras and ensembles in Croatia and Europe. Philarmonia Slavonia has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in Croatia, including the Croatian National Theatre in Osijek and the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb. The ensemble has also performed at international music festivals, including the Dubrovnik Summer Festival and the Ohrid Summer Festival in Macedonia. One of the highlights of Philarmonia Slavonia's career was their performance at the 2010 International Chamber Music Festival in St. Petersburg, Russia. The ensemble received rave reviews for their performance of works by Mozart, Beethoven, and Brahms, and was invited back to the festival the following year. In addition to their performances, Philarmonia Slavonia has also received numerous awards and accolades for their contributions to classical music. In 2008, the ensemble was awarded the City of Osijek Award for their outstanding achievements in music. They have also been recognized by the Croatian Ministry of Culture for their contributions to the promotion of Croatian culture and music. Philarmonia Slavonia continues to be one of the most respected and admired classical music ensembles in Croatia and beyond. Their dedication to excellence and their passion for classical music have earned them a loyal following of fans and supporters, and they are sure to continue to inspire audiences for many years to come.
