Francesco Corti is a renowned Italian harpsichordist and conductor, known for his virtuosic performances and interpretations of Baroque and Classical music. Born in Arezzo, Italy in 1973, Corti began his musical studies at a young age, studying piano and organ before discovering his passion for the harpsichord. Corti's early musical education was shaped by his studies with renowned harpsichordist and musicologist Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini, who introduced him to the world of historical performance practice and the art of improvisation. Under Tagliavini's guidance, Corti developed a deep understanding of the nuances and subtleties of Baroque and Classical music, and honed his skills as a performer and interpreter. In 1995, Corti won first prize at the International Harpsichord Competition in Bruges, Belgium, launching his career as a soloist and chamber musician. One of Corti's most notable performances was his 2010 debut with the New York Philharmonic, where he performed J.S. Bach's Keyboard Concerto No. 1 in D minor.
