He grew up in a family of musicians, with his mother being a pianist and his father a cellist. From a young age, Kenneth showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Kenneth's parents recognized his potential and enrolled him in the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division when he was just six years old. There, he studied under renowned pianist and teacher Yoheved Kaplinsky. Kenneth's talent and dedication quickly became apparent, and he was soon performing in recitals and competitions. In 1997, at the age of 12, Kenneth won first prize in the New York State Music Teachers Association Piano Competition. This was just the beginning of his success in competitions, as he went on to win numerous awards and accolades throughout his teenage years. In 2003, Kenneth was accepted into the Juilliard School's college division, where he continued his studies with Kaplinsky. He also began studying with pianist Emanuel Ax, who became a mentor and inspiration to him. During his time at Juilliard, Kenneth continued to excel in competitions. In 2005, he won first prize in the Hilton Head International Piano Competition, and in 2006, he won the Juilliard Concerto Competition, which led to his debut performance with the Juilliard Orchestra. After graduating from Juilliard in 2007, Kenneth continued to perform and compete. In 2008, he won first prize in the Washington International Piano Competition, and in 2009, he won the Vendome Prize at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland. Kenneth's career continued to flourish, and he began performing with major orchestras around the world. In 2011, he made his debut with the New York Philharmonic, performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4 under the baton of Alan Gilbert. The performance was widely praised, with The New York Times calling Kenneth "a pianist of uncommon sensitivity and intelligence." In 2013, Kenneth was awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, which recognizes young musicians with exceptional talent and potential. The grant provided him with financial support and opportunities for performances and recordings. Kenneth's repertoire is wide-ranging, with a particular focus on the works of Beethoven, Schubert, and Brahms. He is known for his thoughtful and nuanced interpretations, as well as his technical prowess. In addition to his performing career, Kenneth is also a dedicated teacher. He has taught at the Juilliard School and the Manhattan School of Music, and he currently serves on the faculty of the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. Throughout his career, Kenneth has remained committed to his craft and to sharing his love of music with others. He has said that his goal as a musician is "to communicate the beauty and power of music to as many people as possible." With his talent, dedication, and passion, he has undoubtedly achieved that goal and will continue to do so for years to come.More....
