Robert Expert was born on May 15, 1985, in Vienna, Austria. He was born into a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Robert showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Robert's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with his father and quickly progressed, displaying an exceptional ability to interpret and perform classical music. By the age of ten, Robert had already won several local piano competitions and was gaining recognition as a prodigious talent. At the age of twelve, Robert was accepted into the prestigious Vienna Conservatory, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher, Professor Franz Schmidt. Under Professor Schmidt's guidance, Robert's skills as a pianist continued to develop, and he began to gain a reputation as one of the most promising young pianists of his generation. In 2003, Robert won first prize in the International Piano Competition in Salzburg, Austria, which marked a turning point in his career. The competition was attended by some of the most respected figures in the classical music world, and Robert's performance was widely praised for its technical brilliance and emotional depth. Following his success in Salzburg, Robert began to receive invitations to perform at major concert halls and festivals around the world. He made his debut at the Carnegie Hall in New York in 2005, where he performed a program of works by Beethoven, Chopin, and Liszt to critical acclaim. Over the years, Robert has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Vienna Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the London Symphony Orchestra. He has also collaborated with many of the most celebrated conductors of our time, including Daniel Barenboim, Sir Simon Rattle, and Riccardo Muti. Robert's repertoire is vast and includes works by many of the great composers of the classical music canon, including Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, and Rachmaninoff. He is particularly renowned for his interpretations of the works of Chopin, which he has recorded extensively. In addition to his performing career, Robert is also a dedicated teacher and has taught masterclasses at some of the world's leading music schools, including the Juilliard School in New York and the Royal Academy of Music in London. Robert has received numerous awards and accolades throughout his career, including the prestigious Gramophone Award for his recording of Chopin's complete Nocturnes. He has also been awarded the Austrian Cross of Honour for Science and Art, which is one of the highest honors that can be bestowed upon an artist in Austria. Despite his success, Robert remains humble and dedicated to his craft. He continues to practice for several hours a day and is always striving to improve his technique and interpretation. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest pianists of his generation and a true ambassador for classical music.
