She grew up in a family of musicians, with her father being a renowned pianist and her mother a violinist. From a young age, Gertraud showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. As a child, Gertraud was enrolled in the Vienna Conservatory, where she received formal training in classical piano. She quickly excelled in her studies and began performing in public at the age of six. Her talent was recognized early on, and she was invited to perform at various concerts and festivals throughout Austria. In 1996, at the age of eleven, Gertraud won first prize in the prestigious International Piano Competition in Vienna. This was a major milestone in her career and opened up many doors for her. She was invited to perform with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Vienna Philharmonic and the Berlin Philharmonic. Over the years, Gertraud has performed in some of the world's most renowned concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. She has also performed at numerous music festivals, including the Salzburg Festival, the Lucerne Festival, and the Edinburgh International Festival.
