Lina Tur Bonet is a Spanish violinist and conductor who has gained international recognition for her performances of Baroque and Classical music. Born in Palma de Mallorca, Spain in 1976, Tur Bonet began playing the violin at the age of three and went on to study at the Conservatori Superior de Música de les Illes Balears and the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Salamanca. Tur Bonet's early career was marked by a series of impressive performances and awards. In 1995, she won first prize at the National Violin Competition in Spain, and in 1996 she was awarded the prestigious "Premio Nacional Fin de Carrera" for her outstanding academic achievements. She went on to study with renowned violinists such as Ruggiero Ricci, Franco Gulli, and Salvatore Accardo, and in 2000 she won first prize at the International Violin Competition "Villa de Llanes" in Asturias, Spain. Tur Bonet's career as a soloist and chamber musician took off in the early 2000s, when she began performing with some of the world's leading Baroque ensembles, including La Petite Bande, Il Giardino Armonico, and Les Musiciens du Louvre. Her performances were praised for their virtuosity, sensitivity, and musicality, and she quickly became known as one of the most exciting and dynamic performers of Baroque music on the international stage. In 2005, Tur Bonet founded her own ensemble, Musica Alchemica, which specializes in the performance of Baroque and Classical music on period instruments.
