Artist Info
Birth:1976Laura Samuel is a renowned classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a violinist. She was born in London, England, in 1976, and grew up in a family of musicians. Her father was a cellist, and her mother was a pianist, so it was only natural that Laura would develop a love for music at a young age. Laura began playing the violin when she was just four years old, and by the time she was a teenager, she was already showing great promise as a musician. She attended the Purcell School of Music in London, where she studied under the tutelage of renowned violinist Felix Andrievsky. After completing her studies at the Purcell School, Laura went on to study at the Royal College of Music in London, where she continued to hone her skills as a violinist. She graduated with honors in 1997, and soon after, she began her professional career as a musician. Over the years, Laura has performed with some of the most prestigious orchestras in the world, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. She has also collaborated with many renowned conductors, such as Sir Simon Rattle, Valery Gergiev, and Sir Colin Davis. One of the highlights of Laura's career was her performance of the Beethoven Violin Concerto with the London Symphony Orchestra in 2005. The performance was widely praised by critics, who hailed Laura's virtuosity and musicality. In addition to her work as a soloist, Laura is also a dedicated chamber musician. She has performed with many of the world's leading chamber ensembles, including the Nash Ensemble, the Endellion Quartet, and the Belcea Quartet. Laura has also been the recipient of many awards and honors throughout her career. In 2001, she was awarded the prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship, which is given to outstanding young musicians who show exceptional promise. She was also awarded the Royal Philharmonic Society's Young Artist Award in 2002. Despite her many accomplishments, Laura remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She continues to perform regularly and is always looking for new ways to challenge herself as a musician. Her passion for music is evident in every performance, and she is truly one of the most talented and respected classical music artists of her generation.More....
