Chara Iacovidou is a classical pianist and composer from Cyprus. She was born on May 22, 1991, in Nicosia, Cyprus. Her parents were both musicians, and they encouraged her to pursue music from a young age. Chara began playing the piano at the age of four and showed a natural talent for the instrument. Chara's parents recognized her potential and enrolled her in the Cyprus State Conservatory of Music, where she studied piano under the guidance of renowned pianist and teacher, Dr. Tatiana Stupak. Chara's talent and dedication to music were evident from the start, and she quickly became one of the top students in her class. In 2007, Chara was awarded a scholarship to attend the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. She studied piano performance and composition at Berklee and graduated with honors in 2011. During her time at Berklee, Chara had the opportunity to work with some of the most talented musicians in the world and to perform in some of the most renowned venues in the United States. After graduating from Berklee, Chara returned to Cyprus and began performing as a solo pianist and composer. She quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented and innovative musicians in the country, and her performances were highly sought after. In 2013, Chara released her debut album, "Dawn," which featured her original compositions for solo piano. The album was well-received by critics and audiences alike and helped to establish Chara as a rising star in the classical music world. Over the years, Chara has performed in some of the most prestigious venues in the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. She has also collaborated with some of the most talented musicians in the world, including violinist Maxim Vengerov and cellist Yo-Yo Ma. In addition to her work as a performer, Chara is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. She has taught piano and composition at the Cyprus State Conservatory of Music and has worked with young musicians from around the world to help them develop their skills and pursue their dreams. Chara's talent and dedication to music have earned her numerous awards and accolades over the years. In 2015, she was awarded the Cyprus Young Artist Award for her contributions to the arts in Cyprus. In 2017, she was named a Steinway Artist, joining a select group of pianists who are recognized for their exceptional talent and dedication to the instrument. Today, Chara continues to perform and compose music that inspires and moves audiences around the world. She is a true ambassador for classical music and a shining example of what can be achieved through hard work, dedication, and a love of music.
