Kounadis was a prolific composer, and he wrote music in a variety of genres, including orchestral works, chamber music, vocal music, and music for the theater. One of Kounadis's most important works is his Symphony No. 1, which he composed in 1953. The symphony is in three movements, and it is scored for a large orchestra.
