She was the daughter of a prominent Hungarian lawyer, and her mother was a talented amateur pianist. Eva showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Her mother was her first teacher, and she quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. Eva's family recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began studying at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest at the age of 10. Her teachers included some of the most renowned pianists of the time, including Zoltán Kodály, Béla Bartók, and Ernst von Dohnányi. Eva was a dedicated student and spent many hours practicing each day. In 1944, Hungary was occupied by Nazi Germany, and Eva's family was forced to flee the country. They eventually settled in Switzerland, where Eva continued her studies at the Geneva Conservatory. She also gave her first public performance in Switzerland, which was well-received by audiences and critics alike. After the war, Eva returned to Hungary and resumed her studies at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music. She graduated with honors in 1948 and began performing professionally. Her first major performance was at the Budapest Opera House, where she played Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3. The performance was a huge success, and Eva quickly became one of the most sought-after pianists in Hungary. Eva's talent was recognized internationally, and she began touring Europe and the United States. She performed with some of the most prestigious orchestras in the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. She also performed at some of the most famous concert halls in the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York and the Royal Albert Hall in London.
