From a young age, Joze showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Joze's parents recognized his potential and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with his father and quickly progressed, winning his first competition at the age of six. Joze continued to excel in his studies and went on to attend the Ljubljana Academy of Music, where he studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and pedagogue, Dubravka Tomsic. During his time at the academy, Joze participated in numerous competitions and performances, earning recognition for his exceptional talent. In 1995, he won first prize at the International Piano Competition in Trieste, Italy, and went on to win several other competitions throughout Europe. Joze's career as a concert pianist took off in the late 1990s, and he began performing regularly throughout Europe and Asia. He quickly gained a reputation for his virtuosic playing and his ability to connect with audiences through his emotional and expressive performances. One of Joze's most notable performances was at the 2002 International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland. He was one of only 10 pianists selected to compete in the prestigious event, which is considered one of the most important piano competitions in the world. Joze's performance of Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor earned him critical acclaim and helped to establish him as one of the leading pianists of his generation. In addition to his solo performances, Joze has also collaborated with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. He has worked with many renowned conductors, including Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, and Valery Gergiev. Throughout his career, Joze has received numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to classical music. In 2003, he was awarded the Prešeren Award, Slovenia's highest cultural honor, for his outstanding achievements in music. He has also been awarded the Order of Merit of the Republic of Slovenia and the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government. Despite his success, Joze remains humble and dedicated to his craft. He continues to perform regularly and is committed to sharing his love of music with audiences around the world.
