He won his first competition at the age of eight and went on to win numerous awards and accolades throughout his career. In 1996, Meinel was accepted into the prestigious Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin, where he studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and teacher Klaus Hellwig. During his time at the conservatory, Meinel honed his skills and developed a deep understanding of classical music. After graduating from the conservatory in 2005, Meinel began performing extensively throughout Europe and Asia. He quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented and dynamic pianists of his generation, known for his technical prowess and emotional depth. Meinel's performances were marked by a deep understanding of the music he played, and he was known for his ability to bring out the nuances and subtleties of even the most complex compositions. He was equally at home playing the works of classical masters like Beethoven and Chopin as he was with contemporary composers like Philip Glass and Arvo Pärt. One of Meinel's most memorable performances came in 2010, when he played a solo recital at the Berlin Philharmonic. The concert was a critical and commercial success, with Meinel receiving a standing ovation from the audience.
