Role:ConductorSarah Christian was born on May 15, 1985, in Vienna, Austria. She was born into a family of musicians, with her father being a renowned violinist and her mother a pianist. Sarah showed an interest in music from a young age and began playing the violin at the age of four. Sarah's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began taking lessons with renowned violin teachers in Vienna and quickly gained a reputation as a prodigy. At the age of ten, she made her debut performance with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, playing Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3. Sarah continued to hone her skills and by the age of 16, she had won several prestigious competitions, including the International Violin Competition in Indianapolis and the Menuhin Competition in London. These wins brought her international recognition and she began to receive invitations to perform with major orchestras around the world. In 2003, Sarah made her debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City, playing Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. The performance was a huge success and cemented Sarah's reputation as one of the world's leading violinists. Over the years, Sarah has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. She has also collaborated with some of the world's leading conductors, including Daniel Barenboim, Simon Rattle, and Zubin Mehta. In addition to her performances with orchestras, Sarah is also an accomplished chamber musician. She has performed with many of the world's leading chamber ensembles, including the Emerson String Quartet and the Guarneri Quartet. Sarah has recorded extensively throughout her career, with over 20 albums to her name. Her recordings have received critical acclaim and have won several awards, including a Grammy Award for Best Chamber Music Performance in 2010. In addition to her performing career, Sarah is also a dedicated teacher. She has taught at several prestigious music schools, including the Juilliard School in New York City and the Royal Academy of Music in London. Many of her students have gone on to have successful careers in music. Throughout her career, Sarah has received numerous awards and honors. In 2007, she was awarded the Austrian Cross of Honor for Science and Art, and in 2015, she was awarded the Order of Merit of Berlin. She has also been awarded honorary doctorates from several universities, including the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and the University of Oxford. Sarah continues to perform and teach, and her passion for music shows no signs of slowing down. She remains one of the world's leading violinists and a true ambassador for classical music.More....
