Jan Václav Vorísek was a Czech composer and pianist who lived during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. He was born on May 11, 1791, in Vamberk, a small town in the eastern part of the Czech Republic. Vorísek was the son of a schoolteacher, and he showed an early aptitude for music. He began playing the piano at a young age and quickly became proficient. In 1805, Vorísek moved to Prague to study music at the Prague Conservatory. He studied under the renowned composer and pianist Johann Nepomuk Hummel, who was a major influence on Vorísek's musical style. Vorísek was a talented student, and he quickly gained a reputation as a skilled pianist and composer. After completing his studies, Vorísek began performing as a pianist and composer throughout Europe. He traveled extensively, performing in cities such as Vienna, Paris, and London. Vorísek was particularly popular in Vienna, where he became friends with many of the leading musicians of the day, including Ludwig van Beethoven.
