Chad Hoopes is a classical music artist who has made a name for himself as a violinist. Born on December 22, 1994, in Shaker Heights, Ohio, Hoopes began playing the violin at the age of three. His parents, both musicians, recognized his talent early on and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. Hoopes began his formal training at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he studied with David Cerone. He later went on to study with Itzhak Perlman at the Juilliard School in New York City. During his time at Juilliard, Hoopes won numerous awards and competitions, including the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in 2012. Hoopes has performed with some of the world's most prestigious orchestras, including the Cleveland Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also performed at some of the world's most renowned concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, and the Berlin Philharmonic. One of Hoopes' most notable performances was his debut with the Cleveland Orchestra in 2007, when he was just 12 years old. He performed the first movement of Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor, and his performance was met with critical acclaim. The Cleveland Plain Dealer called him a "prodigy" and praised his "remarkable poise and musicality." Hoopes has also been recognized for his recordings.
