Jonathan Alder was born on May 15, 1985, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with both his parents being professional classical musicians. His father was a cellist, and his mother was a pianist. From a young age, Jonathan was exposed to classical music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Jonathan's parents recognized his talent and enrolled him in the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division when he was just six years old. He studied with renowned pianists such as Yoheved Kaplinsky and Emanuel Ax. Jonathan's talent was evident from the start, and he quickly became a standout student at Juilliard. In 1997, when Jonathan was 12 years old, he won the prestigious Young Concert Artists International Auditions. This was a significant achievement for such a young musician, and it launched his career as a concert pianist. Jonathan began performing regularly, both in the United States and internationally. Over the years, Jonathan has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra.
