He was born into a family of musicians, and his father, Lev Berlinsky, was a well-known violinist and conductor. Dmitri began playing the violin at the age of five, and he quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. At the age of nine, Dmitri won his first competition, the Moscow Young Violinists Competition. This was the beginning of a long and successful career in music. He went on to study at the Moscow Conservatory, where he was taught by some of the most respected violinists in the world. In 1990, Dmitri moved to the United States to continue his studies at the Juilliard School in New York City. He quickly established himself as a rising star in the classical music world, and he won several prestigious competitions, including the Paganini International Violin Competition in Italy and the Naumburg International Violin Competition in New York. Dmitri's career took off in the 1990s, and he began performing with some of the world's most renowned orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Moscow Philharmonic. He also performed at some of the world's most prestigious music festivals, including the Tanglewood Music Festival and the Aspen Music Festival. One of the highlights of Dmitri's career was his performance at the 1994 Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway. He was chosen to perform the Olympic Hymn during the opening ceremony, and his performance was widely praised for its beauty and emotion. Dmitri was also a prolific recording artist, and he released several albums throughout his career.
