The trio was founded in 1994 by three accomplished musicians, violinist Misha Keylin, cellist Sergey Antonov, and violist Michael Kuznetsov. Misha Keylin, the founder and first violinist of the Hermitage String Trio, was born in Moscow and began playing the violin at the age of six. He studied at the Moscow Conservatory and later at the Juilliard School in New York. Keylin has won numerous awards and has performed with many prestigious orchestras around the world. Sergey Antonov, the cellist of the trio, was born in Moscow and began playing the cello at the age of six. He studied at the Moscow Conservatory and later at the New England Conservatory in Boston. Antonov has won many awards and has performed with many renowned orchestras. Michael Kuznetsov, the violist of the trio, was born in St. Petersburg and began playing the viola at the age of six. He studied at the St. Petersburg Conservatory and later at the Juilliard School in New York. Kuznetsov has won many awards and has performed with many prestigious orchestras. The Hermitage String Trio has performed in many of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Berlin Philharmonic. They have also performed at many music festivals, including the Tanglewood Music Festival, the Aspen Music Festival, and the Ravinia Festival. One of the highlights of the Hermitage String Trio's career was their performance at the White House for President Bill Clinton and First Lady Hillary Clinton. The trio has also performed for other world leaders, including the President of Russia and the Prime Minister of Japan.
