Eva Bernathova was born on May 5, 1985, in Bratislava, Slovakia. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Eva showed a natural talent for music and began playing the violin at the age of four. Eva's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began taking lessons with renowned violin teachers in Slovakia and quickly gained recognition for her exceptional skills. At the age of 12, Eva won first prize in the National Violin Competition in Bratislava, which marked the beginning of her successful career as a classical musician. Eva continued to excel in her studies and was accepted into the prestigious Vienna Conservatory at the age of 16. She studied under the guidance of renowned violinist and pedagogue, Prof. Michael Frischenschlager, and graduated with honors in 2005. After completing her studies, Eva began performing as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe and Asia. She quickly gained a reputation for her virtuosic playing and expressive interpretations of classical repertoire. In 2007, Eva won first prize in the International Violin Competition in Prague, which further cemented her status as a rising star in the classical music world. Over the years, Eva has performed with many renowned orchestras, including the Vienna Philharmonic, the Czech Philharmonic, and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. She has also collaborated with many esteemed conductors, such as Zubin Mehta, Christoph Eschenbach, and Valery Gergiev. One of Eva's most memorable performances was her debut at the Salzburg Festival in 2010. She performed the Brahms Violin Concerto with the Vienna Philharmonic under the baton of Christoph Eschenbach, receiving a standing ovation from the audience. The performance was widely praised by critics, who hailed Eva's playing as "spellbinding" and "mesmerizing." In addition to her successful career as a performer, Eva is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. She has taught masterclasses at many prestigious institutions, including the Juilliard School in New York and the Royal Academy of Music in London. Eva is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience with the next generation of musicians and helping them to develop their own unique voices.
