Born in Utrecht, Netherlands, on June 5, 1970, Tausk grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a conductor, and his mother was a pianist. From a young age, Tausk showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. Tausk's musical education began at the Utrecht Conservatory, where he studied piano and conducting. He later continued his studies at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, where he received his degree in conducting.
