Lyn Fletcher was born on May 12, 1985, in London, England. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Lyn showed a natural talent for music and began playing the violin at the age of four. Lyn's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began taking private lessons with renowned violinists and attended the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she studied under the guidance of Professor David Takeno. During her time at the Royal Academy of Music, Lyn won several awards and competitions, including the prestigious Royal Academy of Music Bach Prize and the Royal Philharmonic Society's Julius Isserlis Scholarship. She also performed in numerous concerts and recitals, both as a soloist and as a member of various ensembles. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Music with honors, Lyn began her professional career as a violinist. She quickly gained recognition for her exceptional talent and was invited to perform with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. One of Lyn's most memorable performances was her solo debut with the London Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican Centre in London. She performed Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto to critical acclaim, with The Guardian describing her performance as "spellbinding" and "mesmerizing." Lyn's talent and dedication to her craft have earned her numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. In 2010, she was awarded the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for her contributions to the arts. She has also been recognized by the Royal Philharmonic Society, the British Council, and the BBC. In addition to her work as a soloist, Lyn is also a passionate chamber musician. She has performed with some of the world's leading chamber ensembles, including the Emerson String Quartet and the Takács Quartet. She is also a founding member of the London-based chamber ensemble, the Fletcher Quartet. Lyn is known for her versatility as a musician, with a repertoire that spans from Baroque to contemporary music. She has collaborated with numerous composers and premiered several new works, including a violin concerto by British composer Mark-Anthony Turnage. Despite her success, Lyn remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She continues to perform and teach, inspiring the next generation of musicians with her passion and talent.
