Born in Jerusalem in 1946, Shehori began playing the piano at a young age and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. He studied with some of the most respected teachers in Israel, including Ilona Vincze-Kraus and Mindru Katz, and went on to win several prestigious competitions, including the Young Artists Competition in Tel Aviv and the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw. In the early 1970s, Shehori moved to the United States to continue his studies at the Juilliard School in New York City. There, he worked with renowned pianists such as Rosina Lhévinne and Adele Marcus, and quickly established himself as a rising star in the classical music world. He made his debut at Carnegie Hall in 1974, performing works by Chopin, Schumann, and Liszt to critical acclaim. Over the next several decades, Shehori continued to perform at major concert halls around the world, including the Royal Festival Hall in London, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and the Salle Pleyel in Paris.
