He was the youngest of three children born to a family of musicians. His father was a pianist, and his mother was a violinist. From a young age, John was exposed to classical music and was encouraged to pursue a career in music. John began his musical training at the age of five, studying the piano with his father. He showed exceptional talent and quickly progressed to more advanced pieces. At the age of eight, he began studying the violin with his mother and soon became proficient in both instruments. In his teenage years, John attended the Juilliard School in New York City, where he studied under some of the most renowned music teachers in the world. He continued to excel in both the piano and the violin and began to develop a reputation as a prodigious talent. In 1983, John made his debut as a soloist with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5. The performance was a resounding success, and John received critical acclaim for his virtuosity and musicality. This performance marked the beginning of a long and illustrious career as a classical music artist. Over the next few years, John performed with some of the most prestigious orchestras in the world, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Vienna Philharmonic. He also performed at some of the most renowned music festivals, such as the Salzburg Festival and the Edinburgh International Festival. In 1987, John won the prestigious International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, Russia.
